CW Debrief : 30th Sept

It might appear that we are still unready to take on the alliance. Even with what seem to be a promising merger of TheRepKnights, Xenation and GEnesis, we are still easily overwhelmed by Dominion + Fenrir, even when they are supposed to be kept busy by our strike allies: Vradical, CelestialSphere, GuardsOfHonor and CloudNine.

This is largely due to the fact that Vradical had an agreement with Dominion. Dominion will not attack Vradical and consider their war with Fenrir largely personal (or domestic). As such, it turns out that we are the only real “enemy” of Dominion this war.

Our plan was easily figured but it doesn’t matter. We got back the tower @ El Lago De Tresman from our old faction TheRepKnights but it was quickly taken by the alliance and given as a “gift” to orb. We withdrew our forces and launched our attack @ Bonavista River and Tetra Hills, switching back and fro between the 2. We managed to get them downto 50% and 85% respestively.
Vradical was attacking Fenrir’s Kings Garden and Jezebel Glenn, while GuardsOfHonor had their eyes set on Lago Celeste and Rio Albi. After wat seemed to be an intensive battle, we switched to help @ Lago Celeste hoping that Dominion will not be able to get there to help out that quickly, but it wasn’t the case. Nonetheless, the tower was brought down to around 60%. At the closing of the battle, we decided to give up on Bonavista which was heavily defended by Dominion then. It was a bad call and slow information passing from Vradical that they already are attacking Orb @ El Lago De Tresman. They managed to get the tower as we were heading towards it. We went on to Jezebel Glen to fight for the last tower which was around 30% health. The presence of both Dominion and Fenrir slowed our process on hitting the tower and it was captured by Vradical again. Gratz to them on getting 2 towers this war. It’s a good sign that the weaker factions still hold some ‘punch’ in them. (But, will this result still be the same if Dominion interfered with Vradical?)

We ended the game with the Bonavista tower @ ~50%, Lago Tower @ ~65% and the Tetra Hills Tower @ ~95%. This is with just 30 odd members online. 20 + of them vets. A pretty good result I would say. More firepower and we should be able to see better results from time to come.

Anyways, do not feel disappointed. We will be starting raids on higher level bosses and restart Gerero on a more active basis. Meanwhile, please read and understand the faction loot system which can be found here.

Colony War Updates : 16th September 2007

I would like to thank all those that participated in this colony war. The deputies and myself would also like to take this opportunity to show our appreciation of the faction’s progression. We have a total of 15 vets to date with around 5 - 10 more to hit vet by next CW.

This is a pretty encouraging figure to boast for a small faction like ours.

We managed to secure 1 colony for this war.

CW 16 Sept 2007

This colony war once again showed that much luck is needed to capture any colonies. We had around 15 - 20 families hitting on a colony with valks (some are high and even grand level). And we lost to 3 - 5 families that came around =/

We attacked Porto Bello’s Deserted Quay with CARNAGE defending. There wasn’t much defenders around and we were able to quickly bring the tower down. With all our valks deployed, the tower was down in around 8mins. However, we did not managed to get the last hit (despite our overwhelming numbers), DarkCrusade managed to get the colony.

We went back to attack again, this time with Fenrir interested in the colony too. We did not have the last hit again despite out numbering them.

At this point, we were considering out next options. It happened that DarkCrusade got the towers @ Bonavista river as well, and it seemed pretty much delicious. We headed over there with little to no resistance and took the tower out in around 12 minutes. There was around 5 minutes left on the clock and there surely isn’t enough time for anyone to capture this colony =).

This was a pretty well timed effort. It also made us wonder, is the alliance not gonna attack the attackers and instead just declare war on their own alliance to steal the last hit and internally swap the colonies around? What a fun war that will be =/

1 year GVC is out!

Hi, it has been quite sometime since I last wrote. Just came back from Taiwan. Pretty tiring trip. Came back online and took quite sometime to re-familiarize myself with the market prices. (Almost sold a controller 12m cheaper =/)

Browsed a few website and found that the 1yr GVC is finally out! However, it can only be purchased via www.gameshop.com.sg.  This probably isn’t a good news for all of us as people who had purchased the 90 days GVC from their website will have know how long they take to process our purchase. Around 1 day to email us the details of the payment, and another 1 day to send us the GVC serial and pin =(

Anyway, the price of the 1 yr GVC is SGD$59.90. That is for either 1yr + 60k GPoints, or 70k GPoints. So it works out to be around 1 dollar / 1k points. (Still takes 10dollars to +5 a 84 elite safely.)

The last colony wars and our stand

First of all, I would like to thank all my members that turned up for the last colony wars (on 2nd Sept). This was our best turn out for a faction event till date.

Unlike most other factions, we decided not to join any alliance. We will fight this war by our own. The reason being, is it really that fun to gang up and win everything? The Domn’s alliance is already strong enough. We do not feel a need to join them just to get some land. Do they really wanna control the entire war and have no enemies?

We started out pretty decently. With 3 strike forces targetting Topolo, Rio Albi and Bonavista River, we got 1 out of our 3 primary targets. We thought we should have won Topolo too, having dealt 75% of the dmg before XeNation turned up and somehow got the tower tagged to them. (Someone mentioned about dealing the most dmg to the tower, it doesn’t seem so this for this case =/)

We attacked Bonavista (which was then held by DarkCrusade). It was fairly easy as 1 vet family could easily wipe their entire faction. Below shows us holding onto 2 colonies for the time being.
.CW 020907

This was short lived as we were simultaneously attacked by both Domn @ Bonavista and Fenrir @ Rio Albi. We could not withstand the overwhelming number and strength and fell pretty soon.

We managed to fought back Bonavista river again (from DarkCrusade) but was again, taken back by Domn.

At this point in time, there were strings of abuses thrown at us from the DarkCrusade members about us purposely hunting them. Well, accept this as part of the game. You said we’re cowards, but in fact, who’s the one that’s hiding under the huge skirt of the Dominion alliance?

These apart, I would like to clearly define our faction’s stand.

We believe that war should be FFA.

Each faction should actually be trying their best to get towers at their own abilities. You may wanna find people to join ur Alliance to make it dominate the war. Does the action of just giving out land to ur allies called war? Seems like your war might just wage when u guys have the leader meeting =/

Well, my faction will not be participating in the next colony wars. Neither will most of the factions that refuses to join the “Alliance”. Have fun if that’s what you guys want.

The Republican Knights will always remain freedom fighters.

Raid Points Database is up =)

During this maintainence, I was thinking about using the 6 hours to make a better system to manage our Raid Points system. I finally completed making the database for our raid system =). This is not just an ordinary database but pretty complex with relationship tables, forms, and nice reports that even a professional database will be proud of =). Guess my 3 + years in Computer Engineering did not go to waste. Below is a preview of the nice reports that it can generate.

This system will be linked to our website soon =)

Directions for the next few weeks

First of all, [The Republican Knights] are seeking for new members to join us in our flight to greater heights.

However, it is really hard to recruit someone that is factionless and is already at least 6x. Most of these people would already have joined factions and those that are still factionless, more often then not, are usually less active.

We would like to attract smaller local (GMT+8 to +10) factions to merge into us.

There are quite a few benefits of doing so:

  • Our faction have already completed the lvl 52 faction quest (That’s 2 free bonus family levels + 1 more family level for choosing political side)
  • Our faction have already established a very good diplomatic network in Cervantes
  • Our faction have already established a system for handling raid boss loots, a website and a forum
  • Our members are very active. (50% of the members online most of the time, and up to 80% during peak periods)
  • Our leader (myself :p) is already a pretty well known and established family in Cervantes

Please drop me (SeraphBlade) a PM in game or leave a comment here if u are interested. Thanks.

Next up, I would like to set the direction for the rest of the members in the faction. For all those that have not hit 100Please concentrate in getting your mains to 100 first before embarking on leveling your new chars. Lvl 100 is pretty paramount, as level (thus rating) is the biggest leverage in this game. It will really help our faction in colony wars, raids and ultimately yourself.

For those that have hit 100

It will really be a bonus for you to attain the veteran class. It is a free 1 ar / dr. However, this is not compulsory as not every family have easy access to GPoints yet.

It will be really beneficial to get at least 1 raid friendly character (Jack, Catherine-Summoner, Musk) if you haven’t already done. This will help us beat raid boss faster. (LOL EZMODE)

Get geared. Getting geared is like getting to Lvl 100. After hitting Lvl 100 and attaining the veteran class, what separates you from the average gamer will be your gear.

The Republican Knights is a Lvl 52 Faction now ~ Enjoy the 2 bonus family levels =)

Also, I would like to congratulate SlR and Zelde for hitting lvl 100. They are the 5th and 6th to do so in our faction. Gambate~
